Lots of people touch "pieces" of AIIM -- our training, or our webinars, or our publications. They often come away really impressed with the product.
But sometimes they don't see the "total" AIIM. I'm going on vacation next week, so while I'm gone, let me tell you how the pieces fit together and tell you why we do what we do.
Here are the 4 core assumptions that underlie what we do:
1 -- We believe that the effective management and application of an organization’s information assets is the surest path to reduce risk, improve productivity, and increase customer value.
2 -- We believe that the individuals in organizations who understand and can act upon this relationship between information stewardship and business value will be the primary change agents for their organizations in the decade ahead.
3 -- We believe that the wisdom in the collective experience of those who have actually implemented information management solutions (users, providers, and consultants) has far more practical value than the opinions of individual experts.
4 -- We believe that users are not simply marketing targets for vendors. Nor are solution providers to be feared by users. Informed and educated users and solution providers are needed to build effective information strategies.
Of course, we are also a small business, working like everyone else to keep the darn lights on. And here's how we try to reflect these core beliefs in what we do...
AIIM provides market research and information that:
- Empower end-users to make smarter information management decisions.
- Help vendors, consultants and solution providers reduce the amount of uncertainty involved in developing, marketing and selling their products and services.
AIIM provides educational services that:
- Help users, project managers, and business executives become more savvy information managers, strategists and technology buyers.
- Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of sales and marketing executives from solution provider companies.
AIIM creates networking opportunities and communities that:
- Allow users, vendors, consultants, and solution providers to connect with each other in a vendor-neutral and non-profit setting.
- Provide a means for the industry to communicate the value of effective information management and its impact on organizational effectiveness.
AIIM is, after all, nothing more or less than a reflection of the community we represent and are privileged to serve. We thank you for that privilege.
